ABOUT US

The Bedford Educational Association is a charity that offers grants for educational purposes within Bedfordshire. The BEA is able to offer grants to schools and educational organisations located in Bedfordshire, as well as to individuals aged 18 and under, who live and/or are in education within Bedfordshire.

Schools can benefit from funding towards major projects or full funding towards smaller initiatives. Low income families or families who suddenly find themselves in financial difficulties are welcome to apply for financial assistance for a variety of educational purposes.

The Bedford Educational Association was first established back in 1920. It owns the former Walmsley House School buildings (23 Kimbolton Road, Bedford) which are currently let to an independent school.  The rental income provides the funds for all grants.

The Trustees meet every term to consider grant applications and decide how funds are to be distributed.
